2015 Graduation Party Ideas

Graduation is a major milestone.  Whether it’s making the jump from pre-school to kindergarten, middle school to high school or high school to college, graduation is an occasion to celebrate and party!  You can create a spectacular graduation party combining traditional elements with a fun twist.  A color palette in the grad’s school colors, future school colors or a theme of their choice will make the party too cool for school.

Invitation

There are so many graduation announcement and invitation options these days.  You can go classic and use a more traditional announcement.  You can incorporate senior portraits into the card or choose something fun and whimsical to reflect the grads personality.

Decorations

In terms of decorations, focus on creating a few focal points: a festive table setting, buffet table, dessert table and maybe a “memories” table.  Combining purchased decorations with a few homemade ones will give the party character with a personal touch.

Food

Serve up the grad’s favs.  Make it simple for your guests to grab their napkins and cutlery by wrapping it to look like diplomas.  Serve up sandwiches and chips to the revelers or get creative with a taco or burger bar.  You could also serve up ice cream sodas or snow cones to add to the cool vibe.

Dessert Table

Create a themed dessert table in the chosen color scheme.  Serve up some cute graduation inspired treats, such as mortar board cake pops, pirouette diplomas or cookies with the graduation year.  Fill in the table with premade candies and treats such as lollipops, gum balls, Oreos etc.

Memories

Making it to graduation is a huge accomplishment with many successes along the way.  Why not highlight some?  Display pictures of the grad, set out some of their awards they hold most dear and ask party attendees to share some of their own memories.  You can also create some new memories with some fun photo booth props.
