801 Chophouse is opening their doors from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 14th for a special Mother’s Day celebration. Enjoy traditional brunch fare like eggs benedict, French toast, Croque Madame and more. Moms will appreciate the complimentarily champagne toast.
Sunday, May 14th from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm, Christopher’s in Beaverdale will be serving Mother’s Day Brunch buffet style. They’ll have a carving station, hot buffet items, seafood, cold displays, salads and a dessert table. Coffee, soda and iced tea are also included with the meal.
Le Jardin will be serving Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 14 with seating between 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. Chefs Tag and Ashton will be serving a special menu including complimentary honey cornbread muffins and coffee for all guests. Menu selections include your choice of two sides.
Moms can enjoy brunch from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm at this European restaurant and bakery on Sunday, May 14th. Special Events in Des Moines to Celebrate Mother’s Day
May 7th, 2:00 pm. You and your child can sign up for this special class with Real Food 4 Kids, which is located in West Des Moines. You’ll enjoy making breakfast items which include individual egg cups with your choice of fillings, popovers and parfaits with homemade granola. At the end of class, you’ll get to eat your delicious creation.
May 10th, 3:00 pm. Don your finest apparel (hat and gloves are acceptable!) and join Indianola Parks and Recreation for finger sandwiches, decadent sweets, and, of course, tea (or lemonade). Moms and daughters will create lasting memories as you enjoy fun activities and games with your favorite girls. Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 3, or when full.
May 13th 10:00 am. Celebrate the girls in your life by joining Urbandale Parks and Recreation at the Giovenetti Community Shelter for a Mother/Daughter tea party. Mothers and daughters are encouraged to dress up for this garden party. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration deadline is May 8th.
May 14th, 8:30 am. The Des Moines Mother’s Day 5K & 10K Run/Walk races into town. Every finisher gets a rose. Mom’s is her’s to keep everyone else, it’s yours to give.
May 14th 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. In honor of Mother’s Day, all moms are admitted FREE of charge to Reiman Gardens. Take the kids and check out the new sculpture exhibit: “Washed Ashore”.
May 14th, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Mom’s get FREE admission to the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. Enjoy some “me” time and explore the gardens on your own or take the whole family and enjoy the last day of their Spring Garden Festival.
May 14th, 11:00 am. Bring your mom to the Salisbury House and enjoy a morning of yoga in the peaceful setting of The Gardens. Emily Boyd, yoga instructor with Pop Up Yoga Des Moines, will lead an hour long outdoor vinyasa yoga class focusing on postures and breathing techniques. After the class guests will be allowed to take a self-guided tour of Salisbury House.
May 14th at 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. Mom can feel like a kid again with a ride on the Heritage Carousel in Union Park. It’s open for Mother’s Day. Mom’s ride FREE and receive a carnation, all other riders cost 50 cents for kids and $1.00 for adults.
May 14th, 12:00 noon. Moms can enjoy a tour and tasting of up to six wines at Summerset Winery in Indianola. They’ll also have delicious bites to pair with each wine and attendees will go home with a Summerset Logo Wine Glass. Reservations are required and you must be 21+ to participate.
May 14th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Join the Des Moines Bike Collective for a bike ride from Jasper Winery to the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. Riders are encouraged to wear pink at this FREE event. Toast mom and decorate helmets at Jasper Winery and stop by Mullets for games & helmet fittings. All moms and the first 200 kids to arrive at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden will receive FREE admission.
