First Friday New Orleans Jazz Party @ Des Moines Social Club
Jun 7 @ 5:30 pm

The NOLA Jazz Band’s monthly “New Orleans Jazz Party” occurs every First Friday of the month at The Basement, usually to a packed house.

All band members have a common love for the sound and “feel” of both traditional and current New Orleans and roots blues music – real, gutsy, raw, heartfelt, and entertaining. They also find joy in their music and love performing together, having fun, and entertaining their audiences.

The NOLA Jazz Band has played alongside a number of well-known traditional jazz and music groups this past year including Davina & the Vagabonds, Sony recording artist trumpet player and singer Bria Skonberg, and Dom Flemons of The Carolina Chocolate Drops.

Individual band members have also shared the stage with Vincent Gardner, Maynard Ferguson, Benny Goodman, Kurt Elling, and many other well know jazz artists during their careers. NOLA Jazz Band members have also been inducted into the Iowa Jazz Hall of Fame, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

CD’s are available at live shows, online at iTunes and CD Baby, on their website, as well as streaming on Spotify.
