Babysitting Clinic (ages 10 and Up) @ Giovannetti Community Shelter

Participants will learn about the responsibilities of a babysitter, what employers expect, and how to care for infants and toddlers. There will also be guest speakers teaching on the subjects of age appropriate toys and activities, safety, and basic first aid and rescue breathing. All participants receive a book filled with information about childcare as well as a certificate of completion at the end of the course. Class taught in conjunction with ISU Extension and Outreach.

Red Cross Babysitting Training @ Waukee Community Center

Attend the American Red Cross Babysitting Certification class and gain life experience by practicing lifesaving babysitting skills on manikins and with other participants. This is a great class for girls and boys getting ready to start babysitting on their own or for those who will be in charge of younger siblings for short periods of time. Participants must be 11+ years old and need to bring a sack lunch. Each participant will receive a Babysitter’s Training Handbook and a starter kit.
