The Special Egg Event @ Iowa State Fairgrounds - Jacobson Center
Apr 13 @ 3:00 pm

On April 13, 2019, 3-5 pm, Journey Church of Urbandale, Iowa will be putting on The Special Egg Event, a unique Easter egg hunt designed
specifically for children with special needs. The Special Egg Event provides families with children of special needs the opportunity to participate in an Easter egg hunt designed for their needs. Four different Easter egg hunts are provided, each one designed to accommodate the varying needs of the children. In this format, children are able to search for treat-filled eggs at their own pace without the added obstacle of other children who need less accommodations. One hunt will feature beeping eggs for children with visual impairment; another will have magnetic eggs that attach to poles for children who are in wheelchairs or have mobility restrictions; a quiet hunt will be available for children on the autism spectrum who need a quiet atmosphere. There will also be a general egg hunt for children who may need extra time hunting.

Siblings of any child can participate in the second wave of the general egg hunt as well! Feel free to bring the whole family! In addition to the egg hunts, there will be various crafts and other activities available for all to participate in. The egg hunts will start at 3:30 pm at the Jacobson Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, but all other activities begin at 3:00. The best part? It’s all free!
