Monster Mash Dance Party @ North Side Library

Kids ages 18 months to six years old, dress up in your favorite costume and get ready to dance, dance, dance! The North Side Library will have music, parachutes, scarves, and more to help you let the inner monster out! You’ll learn some spooky dance moves and they’ll have their green screen set up so you can take a monstrously good picture!

Kids’ Cupcake Decorating Class: Halloween Edition @ Molly's Cupcakes

Molly’s Cupcakes will host a Kids’ Cupcake Decorating Class with a FUN Halloween-Themed twist. Learn how-to fill, frost and decorate your own cupcakes. The cost of the class includes a chef’s hat, beverage and four Halloween-inspired cupcakes. Limited space is available, ages 6 – 14 are welcome and fun is REQUIRED. Spooky Paws Parade @ Historic East Village

Dogs + Costumes + Prizes = FUN at the 9th Annual East Village Spooky Paws Parade!

Date: Sunday, October 28th, 2018
Place: East Locust Street (between Robert Ray Drive and E 6th) in the East Village!
Time: Parade begins at 2 p.m. (registration for prizes begins at 1:15 at the parade start)

Complimentary Spooky Paws Photo Booth is at Jett & Monkey’s Dog Shoppe, 503 East Locust, from Noon – 4 p.m.!

The costume contest returns! Awards for “Best in Show” Furkid, “Best in Show” Human, “Scariest” Furkid and “Cutest” Furkid! Prizes and awards will be announced immediately after the end of the parade in front of Jett and Monkey’s.

East Village WOOF’s dogs! Come early or stay late and enjoy our amazing neighborhood. 🙂

Fall Festival @ Oak Park Elementary

Come on out to Oak Park Elementary School on October 30th for Revive Church’s 5th Annual Fall Fest. We will have something for all ages of kids, inflatables, games, crafts, and LOTS of candy!! We will be serving free hot dogs and hot chocolate for everyone. Come on out at 6pm to 8pm to have some fun in our community!

Pumpkin Plunge @ Science Center of Iowa

Don’t pitch your old pumpkins… Toss them off our terrace for a lesson about gravity. Bring your pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns to SCI between 2:30 and 5:00 pm to participate.

Halloween on the Hill @ Historic Sherman Hill

Walk or drive around the “spooky” streets of Sherman Hill where the historic homes are dressed in Halloween fashion.  You’ll find zombies dancing to Thriller and be on the look-out for a 7 foot Frankenstein! This all trick and no treats event begins at The Kathedral, located on the corner of 19th Street and Crocker Street, where visitors drop off non-perishable food items and pick up a map.  6:30 to 8:30 pm.
