Family Sing-Along: Explore music together in a relaxed and playful setting. This is a 30-minute educationally-based program taught by local instructor and guitarist, Denise Forney. Classes include exposure to a variety of early music concepts, singing, finger plays, dancing, fun props, instrument play, and tips to take home. January 31 6:15 – 7:00 p.m. Library Community Room No registration required.

Art Night Out: Bring the whole family to enjoy a relaxing evening of making masterpieces of your own. Led by an expert art educator from the Des Moines Art Center. February 7 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. Library Community Room Space limited. Registration required.

Storytime Yoga: Storytime Yoga is a full body experience building early literacy skills and healthy bodies at the same time! Featuring puppets, stories, songs, yoga poses and silly breathing exercises for beginner yogis of all ages. A mandala activity will follow along with herbal tea and juice station. Feel free to bring your own mat, but they are not required. February 14 6:15 – 7:00 p.m. Library Community Room Registration required.

Daniel Tiger Neighborhood Party: Won’t you be, our guest? Join Daniel Tiger and Library staff for an evening of celebrating what it means to be a good neighbor and friend. Stuffed Animal Jammy Dance and Sleepover: Bring your stuffed animal for a night of pajamafun with local children’s author, Rebecca Janni. Story time, games, music, and craft. Explore the life history of monarch butterflies, learn about their migration habits, and meet the library’s newest member, a caterpillar who will be released to one of our city parks when ready.
