10AM- On the River- at the Arboretum (Iowa Arboretum, 1875 Peach Ave., Madrid) Storytime and crafty snack! (Free/ All ages)

11AM- Walk and Talk (Iowa Arboretum, 1875 Peach Ave., MadridTour the grounds with Horticulture Project Manager, Leah Worth. (Free/ All ages)

4:30PM- Official BRVF Kick-Off & Block Party (Boone Valley Brewery, 816 7th St., Boone) Fun for the whole family! Live music with Tank Anthony and Justin Elliott Band, food trucks and more! (Free/ All ages)

6PM- Family {1-mile} Fun Run (Boone Valley Brewery, 816 7th St., Boone)Meet on west side of the brewery; participants get 1-free Tropical Sno cone or 1-Free BVB beer at the finish line!(All ages)

SATURDAY

8AM- Adventures in Outdoor Photography (Old ice skating shelter; Park Ave., Boone) Beginner to the camera or a po, come learn a few tips to make your pics Instagram- worth! (Free/ All ages)

8AM-12PM Youth {16 yrs old and younger} Fishing Derby (Don Williams Park, 610 H. Ave., Ogden) Meet at the Open air shelter by the Marina Boat Ramp, last registration at 11:30A. Join Boone County Conservation for fishing fun! Parent must accompany children. (Free/ All ages)

8AM- Ledges State Park/ “Wild” Hike (Meet at Oak Woods Picnic Area; 1515 P Ave., Madrid) Join park staff for a hike to explore the incredible “wildness” that Ledges has to offer. (Free/ All ages)

8:30AM- Bags Tournament (Saints Avenue Restaurant, 1312 S. Story St., Boone) Registration at 8:30; Games go from 9am until completion. Cash prizes for top 3 winning teams! (All ages)

9AM- Nature I-spy Hunt hosted by the Boone County Family YMCA (Meet a Y Camp entrance-1192 166th Dr., Boone) (New location!) Let’s celebrate Y Camp’s 100 years in Boone County! We’ll play, follow directions, use a map, and find clues- all while touring scenic areas at Y Camp! Complete the hunt for entry into prize drawings! (All ages)

2PM- Outdoors at Ericson (Ericson Public Library, 702 Greene St., Boone) Come for story time and crafts inside the Ericson Courtyard (Free/ All ages)

3PM- Geocaching at Ledges (Meet at the Upper Picnic Area/ near campground entrance, 1515 P Ave., Madrid) Join Ledges naturalists for a modern-day treasure hunt! (Free/ all ages)

5PM- Gates Open! (Seven Oaks Recreation, 222nd Dr., Boone) ROCK OUT to Grand Funk Railroad’s 50th Anniversary ‘50 Years of Funk’ Tour with special guest, Blue Oyster Cult and local favorite, Justin Elliott Band. Tickets available online, at Seven Oaks or L&M Gas & Grocery in Boone, or at the gate.

SUNDAY

8:45AM- Community-wide Worship Service & Pancake Feed (Goeppinger Field/ Boone HS football field, Boone) Inter-denominational outdoor community-wide church service with free pancake breakfast- thanks to Fareway Stores in Boone! (Free/ All ages)

10AM- Arts in the Park (Main Shelter, McHose Park, Boone) A community favorite! Join us for dozens of hand crafted art, craft & vintage items, the Market, plus free live music with the Driscoll’s, Kid’s Corner with free books from Ericson Library, face painting and more. Food trucks and (new this year) the Garage Art car show. (Free entry/ All ages)

10AM- Garage Art Car Show (Main Shelter, McHose Park, Boone) Come see the best in the Midwest- and enjoy all free music, kids activities, the food options, and more since you’re right next to Arts in the Park! (Free entry/ All ages)

8:30PM- “The Ledges” documentary screening (Ledges State Park, outdoor amphitheater) Meet at the upper park entrance. Enjoy celebrating Ledges’ 100 years of history! (Free/ All ages)
