Slither out of the house and shed off those winter blues for a chance to learn about the Snakes of Iowa!

Embark on a guided hike under the enchanting glow of the full moon, immersing yourself in the beauty of nature. This program is designed to provide a memorable and educational outdoor experience, blending tranquility, adventure, and history!

As the sun sinks further behind the horizon, a naturalist will lead you through carefully chosen trails, ensuring your safety while experiencing the natural world in a whole new (lack of) light. The trail will be illuminated only by the glow of the full moon, creating an atmospheric ambiance that adds a touch of mystery and magic to the adventure. If the sky is cloudy it will cause the trail to be even darker! This program is tailored to cater to participants of various fitness levels and age groups. Whether you are a seasoned hiker or a beginner, we will adjust the pace and difficulty according to the group’s requirements, allowing everyone to enjoy the experience.

This guided nocturnal exploration provides a unique opportunity to witness the nocturnal wildlife in action. Listen attentively and you may catch the sounds of hooting owls, croaking frogs, or rustling wildlife. Spotting nocturnal creatures like foxes, deer, or even an elusive raccoon adds an extra layer of excitement to the adventure.

No flashlights are required. While you can bring a flashlight if you feel absolutely necessary, we ask that you do not turn it on unless absolutely necessary! We want to have a chance to experience our true night vision. The naturalist will have lights in case of emergency.
