Give Back and Adopt a Family in Des Moines This Holiday Season

Give Back and Adopt a Family in Des Moines This Holiday Season

With the holidays adding to already-full schedules, it’s all too easy for the true meaning of the season to get lost in the hustle and bustle of holiday commitments and gift giving. But how does a busy family shift the focus from getting to giving? How can we ensure that our kids experience the true meaning of the holidays?

Adopting a local family is a great way to fit philanthropic efforts into an already hectic schedule. Adopt A Family is a holiday giving program designed to help families, that are struggling to make ends meet, provide Christmas gifts to their children.  Programs connect families with local businesses, organizations and individuals who “adopt” them and provide Christmas gifts that they would not otherwise receive.

Here are a few organizations in Des Moines where your family can make a difference this holiday season, all while embracing the true spirit of the holidays.

Boys & Girls Club Embrace-A-Family

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa needs your help in making this season extra special for their Club kids. They are matching Boys & Girls Club members with generous community donors like you to provide a jolly holiday. This can be a great giving opportunity for groups, families, work colleagues, and friends.
