Membership has its privileges! If you have a kiddo that loves sports and keeps asking you to take them to games over and over….you may want to join the club! The kids club, that is. Local pro and college sports teams have kids’ clubs that really hit it out of the park. For a nominal fee…or even NO fee, your kiddos can load up on free tickets, fan memorabilia, t-shirts, exclusive events, discounts and more. And remember that a Kids’ Club membership makes a winning gift. Here are nine sports teams that have kids’ clubs in the Des Moines area.
Kids, 14 years old and younger, can join the Buccaneers Kids Club for a cool price tag of $20. They’ll receive a t-shirt; six (6) game vouchers for any game; parties with the players throughout the season; newsletters throughout the season; Chuck-A-Puck clean-up crew participation and a Kids Club name tag.
Sports fans in 12th Grade and under can join Spike’s Kids Club. For $30, your kiddo will receive an official Spike’s Kids Club membership card; official Spike’s Kids Club t-Shirt; FREE Admission to ALL Drake Athletics sponsored events (excludes Drake Relays & post-season play); access to Members-Only game day opportunities; birthday card from Spike and admission to exclusive Kids Club parties.
Register for the Iowa Barnstormers’ Kids’ Club for just $25 (2016 price) per child, and your little football fan can receive a Barnstormers replica jersey; one (1) ticket to any 2017 home Barnstormers game; autographed photo of the player of your choice; birthday card from Billy the Barnstormer or Ace; discount on Barnstormers football and dance camps; the opportunity to assist with football toss clean up at half-time of every home game; an invitation to the Barnstormers Kids Club party and more.
Your little slugger can join the Knothole Gang for a steal at $12 (2016 price). Kids 13 and younger receive admission to 11 Sunday Iowa Cubs home games; free small soft drink and frozen treat at each of those games; Knothole Gang t-shirt; Knothole Gang membership card and an invitation to the Knothole Gang clinic with Iowa Cubs players. “Go Cubs Go!”
The “coolest” kid’s club in Des Moines, Cash’s Crew is the Iowa Wild’s kids club. Kids ages 12 and under have two options. They can sign up for a Green Membership, which is FREE or purchase a Gold Membership which is $19. All members receive FREE tickets to Kids Club games, discounted birthday parties, post-game skates and more. In addition, Gold members receive a t-shirt, an Iowa Wild Puck and a free bag of chuck-a-pucks.
Kids Club membership is only $10 and entitles ballers ages 4 to 14 to tickets for four (4) Kids Club games (Friday, December 23, 2016; Saturday, January 28; Sunday, March 12; Saturday, April 1, 2017); an official Kids Club t-shirt; Kids Club drawstring backpack; Energy VIP Pass and the VIP Badge Challenge!
“Hit that line and hit it hard” with the Jr. Cyclone Club. Budding Cyclone fans who are in 12th grade and younger receive admission to over 70 home sporting events, including hill side seats to football games (excludes men’s basketball games, see the main Jr. Cyclone Club website for more details); official club t-shirt, lanyard and membership card and exclusive invites to member-only events and more! Memberships are $59 per child.
For 20 bucks, your kids (13 and under) can join the Junior Hawk Club. Members receive FREE admission to varsity sports including select non-conference men’s basketball games and select wrestling duals. Football tickets are excluded, but Junior Hawk Club Members will be eligible to purchase a discounted ticket to a non-conference football game. Memberships includes a t-shirt, membership card and a Hawkeye temporary tattoo.
Get your little sports fan in 8th grade and under a membership to the UNI Panthers Kids Club. They’ll receive a Panther Kids Club t-shirt; special birthday email from UNI Athletics; Panther Kids Club membership card and lanyard; general admission to UNI Athletic Events excluding football, wrestling, and men’s basketball; ticket for one home football game; ticket for one men’s basketball home game; an invitation to Kids Club Night (held in the UNI-Dome); invites to exclusive event and more. It’s just $30 per kid.
