Find an updated list for 2019 pumpkin patches here.
Pumpkin picking season is here which means it’s time to start mapping out which pumpkin patches you’re going to hit this year. And, since most of our area’s pumpkin patches also offer old-fashioned fun (think petting zoos, hayrides and corn mazes) it’s a good idea to plan on making a day of it. To help you narrow down your choices, we’ve rounded up our favorite pumpkin patches, all within a short drive of Des Moines.
Pumpkin Patch Season: September through October

- verify picking dates as it varies from farm to farm.

- Remember comfortable shoes (you will be walking in fields) and wear sun screen.
- Bring your water bottle and pack a picnic if the farm allows.
- Take along hand sanitizer, especially if there will be a petting zoo.
