How about the weather this week?!? I do believe spring is on its way, Des Moines friends! Spring also ushers in what I call brunch season. Brunch is one of the more kid-friendly meals, both in terms of time of day and foods offered. One of the highlights of brunch season for many is Easter brunch. Here are five fun Easter brunches where you can raise your sippy cup (or mimosa glass:) in Des Moines. 

Cub Club Brunch & Easter Egg Hunt

Make memories with your kids this Easter while enjoying a one-of-a-kind brunch at the Cub Club located at Principal Park.  Their special Easter Brunch menu hasn’t been posted yet, so make sure to keep an eye out for it.  If you’ve got kids, you’ll want to time your brunch with the Easter egg hunt that will take place at 1:00 pm.  We’ve also heard that the Easter Bunny and Cubbie Bear will be making an appearance!

Fleming’s will be serving a delicious Easter brunch where you can pick from specialty main dishes like their Signature Eggs Benedict or melt-in-the-mouth Brioche French Toast. Is your mouth watering yet? Kids will be able to order off of their own menu. Easter Brunch is served in three courses: starter, entrée and dessert.

Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse

If you’ve never been to a Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse brunch before, you’re in for a real treat. In addition to chef carved prime rib and ham they will also be serving up breakfast items like smoked salmon, homemade pastries and desserts.  They also have a children’s buffet with even more mouth-watering dishes planned for this year’s feast.

No stroll through Beaverdale is complete without a stop at Le Jardin, a French neighborhood eatery.  The Brunch menu features crepes, omelets and a la carte items made with locally sourced ingredients. Reservations are taken for parties of five or more and are highly recommended for busy times like Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

For a little taste of Italy for your Easter brunch, head over to Urbandale to eat at Sam & Gabe’s. The menu includes some serious brunch food that will push your Easter brunch limits in the best possible way.  The breakfast and lunch items change every week to keep you coming back.  They also have $12 bottomless mimosas that are made with fresh squeezed orange, blood orange or grape fruit juice.
