Iowa’s most-loved amusement park preps for new season, new era.
Adventureland Resort is back and better than ever for the 2022 Season. The beloved amusement park opens for the season on weekends starting May 14, 2022, plus Monday, May 23. Adventureland’s daily operating schedule begins Friday, May 27, including the opening of the Adventure Bay water park, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
Inside the park, guests will find their favorite attractions, along with nine new family rides and a host of upgrades. “We’re counting down the days until we open and couldn’t be more excited to welcome new and familiar faces to Adventureland,” said Adventureland General Manager Bill Lentz. “The park’s gotten a facelift — fresh paint and upgrades across the board — and a host of fun, family-friendly rides, and attractions. We’d love to see everyone come and experience the new Adventureland in 2022.”

Adventureland Debuts 9 Family-Friendly Rides That Deliver Big-Time Fun to Guests Tall and Small!
New Rides
- Rockin’ Rainbow: Playground swings never rocked like this Rainbow. Climb into your individual seat and swing high above the midway.
- Lighthouse: An all-new version of a longtime Adventureland favorite! This Lighthouse allows riders to decide how high they climb up the 40’ tower.
- Bernie’s Swing: The official swing of Adventureland Resort’s mascot, sending riders up and down for a barking good time!
- Leap Frogs: Children and adults can leap into their very own frog to spin around as they hop up and down.
- The Revolution: One of two new ship rides setting sail this season, The Revolution travels a half-pipe-shaped track while rotating around 360 degrees.
- Flying Tigers: Riders get to fly their own fighter planes that tilt up and down, controlled by each pilot!
- Circus Balloons: Take to the skies again, this time in vehicles shaped like hot air balloons.
- Speedway Racers: Riders small and tall can rev their engines in this car-themed ride that travels a motor speedway track, including a wild 180-degree turn!
- The Clipper: A miniature version of the popular Galleon swinging ship ride, The Clipper allows smaller, less adventurous riders to hit the high seas as well.
The new rides will keep families smiling, soaring and sailing to fun for hours, while thrill seekers can look forward to a second season of super-powered spins and thrills on the Dragon Slayer roller coaster, recently nominated as one of America’s Best New Theme Park Attractions. Plus, favorites like The Monster, The Outlaw, Storm Chaser and more.
Cashless Convenience
Also new for 2022, guests will find a more efficient, convenient, and visitor-friendly payment process throughout Adventureland Resort. Adventureland will only accept credit, debit, and prepaid cards. The switch allows for a smoother and safer experience for guests, who can make payments with all major credit and debit cards.
Guests that prefer cash have no cause for concern: they can use new, free Cash to Card Kiosks conveniently located throughout the resort to convert up to $500 cash onto a prepaid card. This prepaid card can be used to purchase tickets and frequent stores and stands throughout the resort. The cards can also be used free of fees outside the park anywhere cards are accepted.
Ticket Options
It isn’t too late to partake in the party for Passholders – a Season Pass remains the best way to enjoy Adventureland all summer long. Season Passes are available in four easy payments starting as low as $38/month. New in 2022, single-day visitors can save big by planning ahead and purchasing online for the specific day you wish to visit. This season will start with a limited-time special offer to save more than 40 percent off walk-up gate prices on select dates through June 5, 2022.
