Unfortunately, the Opera decided to cancel their 2020 Summer Festival Season. In lieu of an in-person festival, Des Moines Metro Opera teamed up with Iowa PBS to share online and televised presentations of their recent productions. These online performances will also be supplemented by artist recitals, cast reunions, interviews, prelude talks, and digital versions of annual DMMO events.
Through their #PROJECTJOY, Des Moines Performing Arts is sharing a number of activities that families can do to bring performing arts into their home. Each week, they add new activities for young learners, inviting you to explore featured artists that have performed on DMPA stages.
The Playhouse recently announced that they will be releasing a Friday FunDay video series starting on Friday, May 15th. Friday FunDay is fun interactive theatre for kids.
