Altoona Campus

The Altoona Campus offers a number of activities that will keep kids moving and active during their birthday party.  You’ll have the use of their Youth Room facilities with the options to swim and play in the youth gym.  

Cost: $75 for up to 10 children ($4 per additional guest; 20 children maximum).  You provide the cake and drinks.

Johnston Dance Academy

Tiny dancers will leap for joy to have a birthday party at Johnston Dance Academy. They have two party packages available, that include 1.5 hours of party time, with the first hour spent with an instructor learning a dance routine and the last 30 minutes for cake and presents. 

Cost: Package 1: $100 for up to 10 guests (includes instruction time); Package 2: $150 for up to 15 guests (Includes instruction time + plates, napkins, cake, ice-cream, drinks, and table set up).

Kid Warrior Gym

Birthday party options are available for “Ninja Warriors” ages 4 to 12.  Private hosts take care of everything while kids conquer obstacle courses and more in a state-of-the-art gym space and party room.  Party packages are for two hours and include pizza, drinks, birthday cake and favors.

Awesome Birthday Party Venues 4 DSM Kids –

The Knotty Nail

Perfect for the crafty 8+ age group, this creative studio will allow birthday guests to create their own string art. The Knotty Nail located in Mainframe Studios, offers pre-nailed boards (great for ages 8+) and nail-yourself boards (ages 10+).  Workshops include full instruction; unlimited string colors and all the supplies necessary. Crafters will have 2 hours to complete their design.

Cost: Pre-nailed boards are $25 each and nail-yourself boards are $20 each. Minimum of 8 guests.  You provide the cake and drinks.

Lolli & Pops

Birthday parties are the perfect time for sweets, and there’s no better place to indulge than at Lolli & Pops in Jordan Creek. This cute sweet shop hosts birthday parties in their party room, where guests can hang out for up to three hours.  The cost of the party includes a gummy bear-shaped glass jar, which party guests get to fill with any bulk candy they want in the store. They’ll also receive a “Token” which can be used to refill the jar again at a later date.

Cost: $15 per child. You provide the cake, drinks, and entertainment.

Mid-Iowa Gymnastics

Get the run of the house with a Mid-Iowa Gymnastics birthday bash. A professional instructor will lead kids (ages 1-12) in gymnastics-based fun and games for the first hour of the party. The final 30 minutes is parent-led in the party area where birthday guests can enjoy treats, open presents, and any other games or activities you would like to provide.

Cost: Five party packages are available starting at $175 for 1 to 12 party guests.

Tweens and Teens would love hosting their next birthday soiree at this gaming lounge located in the East Village. Ricochet is set up to host anywhere from 10-200 people. They offer ping pong, foosball, darts, shuffleboard and bags.  They do not offer any food or drink, but they have plenty of table space for you to provide it. 

Cost: The cost of a private rental varies depending on the size of your party.  Or, it’s $10 per person for unlimited game play.  Note: All ages are welcome on Sunday, all other days it’s 21+.

Thank you author, for giving quite a number of suggestions in the DSM area. I browsed for one and found more than five.
