At Learning Ladder Childcare Center we aren't just a place you drop your kids off while you're at work. We strive to be a vital step on your child's "ladder" through life. Main Street Montessori is a small, private school, located just 15 minutes south of Des Moines, in Norwalk, Iowa. Established in 2006, our diverse community consists of classrooms from primary through middle school. The North Side Library also features the Heritage Collection, which is filled with local history artifacts from the Highland Park and surrounding neighborhoods. The vintage photographs and memorabilia encased in the meeting room tell the story of the Park’s past.
The South Side Library features a wide collection of materials, including a large new book area and an updated Foreign Language collection. The teen loft hosts an extensive teen collection and comfortable seating, as well as a study area with tables containing built-in outlets. The South Side Library welcomes community groups to take advantage of the spacious meeting room.
Southeast Polk Community School District is located just east of the Des Moines metro area. We serve more than 6400 students in grades preschool to 12th grade. The central campus - consisting of the high school, junior high, sixth grade building, district office, bus maintenance facility, and buildings and grounds department - is located in the geographic center of the district, with eight elementary schools located throughout the district.
We are surrounded with a variety of recreational opportunities. The popular theme park, Adventureland, and the state’s only horse racing facility, Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, are located in the district. A myriad of athletic and cultural opportunities are close by in Des Moines, and 11 colleges and universities are located within 35 miles of the district.
