Buxton Park Arboretum 5.4 acres is an arboretum and botanical garden located at the intersection of North Buxton Street and West Girard Avenue, Indianola, Iowa. It is open to the public without charge.

Camp Heart Connection Oncology Camp provides children with cancer a week of typical camp activities and so much more. Campers are able to spend time with others who are going through the same emotions as they are.
Camp Hertko Hollow is dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth who have diabetes.The goals at camp are: Recreation, Education, Regulation and FUN! Campers enjoy the traditional camp activities while learning about living with diabetes. Meeting other youth and counselors who have diabetes is also a great benefit of the experience.
Children and adults with and without disabilities enjoy all Easter Seals Iowa Camp Sunnyside has to offer including canoeing, an animal farm, horseback riding, archery, nature trails, the Variety Club Rec Center, an accessible indoor pool and the Meredith Tree House. At night campers sleep in new, air conditioned lodges. Sessions are held at Camp Sunnyside for campers age five and older. Week-long and day camps are offered during the summer. Camp Sunnyside is located at 401 NE 66th Ave. in Des Moines, IA 50313.
The 34-acre park features three adult softball fields (available for rental), two sand volleyball courts, a basketball court, three tennis courts, new playground equipment and open space for soccer or football.
The park also has an open-air shelter that may be reserved for your family picnic (far left). The shelter is equipped with electrical outlets and two grills. There are eight picnic tables allowing a capacity of 40-50 people.
