Welcome to our Virtual Opening! It is May, which is one of our very favorite times of the year at Living History Farms. Traditionally, it’s the month we open for the season and welcome visitors and school groups back to the Farms. Of course, this year, things look a bit different, but we’re still celebrating the arrival of spring, the many good things that continue to take place at LHF, and YOU, our friends and supporters! And this year marks our 50th anniversary!

So, what does a virtual opening mean? It means we want to connect and engage with you from a safe social distance. You will find several fun opportunities to get involved below. Enjoy brand new videos from our farm staff, share your favorite photo memories with us on Facebook, answer some Living History Farms trivia (or scour our website for clues!), and explore the unique ways to view our museum collections online. We also have some new activities for the kids to do at home and a special giving opportunity as we participate in #GivingTuesdayNow. Whatever your interests, we invite you to join in the fun – it’s Virtual Opening Day!

Share Your Favorite Photo Memories!

Help us celebrate our opening day and share one of your favorite photos from a past visit to Living History Farms. Make sure your photo privacy is set to share publicly and tag your Facebook photos with our hashtag #FavFarmsFoto. We’ll be sharing them on our Facebook page throughout opening day on May 1st!

New Items in our Online Collection

We’ve added many new items to our online collections database, including several objects that were featured in our recent Historic Textiles Exhibit. Whether you were unable to attend the exhibit and want to take a look some of our rarely-seen quilts and clothing items, or just want to delve into our archives for a peek at some of the curious objects housed at the museum, our collections database is a fun place to explore.

#GivingTuesdayNow

More than ever, we need your support. Because of the spring events and program cancellations, vital income it takes to run our museum has been lost. If you are in a position to help today, please do so.
