The health, safety and comfort of our guests, staff and volunteers are our highest priorities. We have implemented numerous policies and procedures in accordance with current health guidelines and best practices (detailed below), and appreciate your support and partnership in adhering to these protocols to protect the wellbeing of all.
Our opening timeline is as follows:
Wednesday, June 24: Timed tickets released online for members and Garden Giving Club via email
Tuesday, June 30: Timed tickets released to general public at dmbotanicalgarden.com
Tuesday, June 30-Thursday, July 2: Garden reopens with exclusive access to members and Garden Giving Club
Friday, July 3: Essential Healthcare Workers’ Day
Saturday, July 4-Sunday, July 5: Garden closed in observance of holiday
Monday, July 6: Garden opens to the public
Reopening Policies and Procedures
In order to welcome you back safely, we have enacted new social distancing, cleaning and hygiene protocols and are restricting access to most indoor spaces.
Admission will be exclusively by advanced online reservation/timed ticketing through the Garden’s website at dmbotanicalgarden.com or over the phone by calling 515.323.6290. Entry is not guaranteed to those who arrive without a ticket. This includes members, Museums for All participants, and Library Adventure Pass participants.
The number of guests allowed in during each block will be capped to ensure appropriate social distancing guidelines.
Guests will enter through the outdoor entrance to Trellis Café and exit through the Lauridsen Savanna.
Groups should not exceed five (5) people unless direct family members.
Members will be allowed to reserve the number of tickets currently allotted based on their membership level.
Access to buildings will be limited to restrooms only. Drinking fountains will not be accessible, so please bring your own water.
Face coverings are required at all times, excluding children under age 2. Guests will not be allowed entry without adequate face covering.
Maintain a 6-foot distance between yourself and others not in your group.
Do not visit the Garden if you are ill, exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or have received a positive test for COVID-19 in the last 14 days; if anyone in your household is ill, exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or have received a positive test for COVID-19 in the last 14 days; or if you have been in contact with anyone who is ill, exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or have received a positive test for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
Trellis Café will have a limited menu, including grab-and-go offerings, with outdoor seating.
High touch surfaces throughout the Garden, including the restrooms and door handles, will be regularly cleaned and sanitized throughout the day to enhance hygiene and safety.
