Get ready to cast-on and learn the basic stitches and techniques you need to knit warm and wonderful creations during this how-to-knit class. If you have tried to knit before and got frustrated, dropped a stitch, or worse, this class may be just for you.
We will learn the basic knit stitch and discuss good techniques best and start a simple scarf. Learning to avoid and fix common frustrations and problems is crucial to successful knitting.
Materials: A 4 oz ball or skein of good, thick (but not bulky) yarn and a 16-inch circular or a pair of size 8 needles. Look at the label for yarn that knits 3-4 stitches per inch. Avoid dark or very light-colored yarns. Pick yarn you like that feels good between your fingers.
(Yarn and hook can be provided for a $5.00 extra fee, paid in cash at the beginning of class.)
