Find Discounted Tickets to Local Attractions This Summer in Des Moines

Nothing screams summer like an outing to a fun attraction, whether you’re just out and about for the day or on vacation. Of course paying to get into these attractions can also make you scream, especially when you’re purchasing admission tickets for multiple people. Fortunately, there are ways to save a little money. We’ve rounded up a list of businesses and organizations that provide a variety of discounts to local attractions in Des Moines.

AAA

Your AAA Membership Card saves you on admission to local, regional and national attractions.  Examples of local discounts include: $2 off an Adventureland Single Day Ticket and $1 off admission to Living History Farms when you show your AAA card at purchase.

Casey’s General Store

The local convenience store chain offers a limited amount of discount coupons to Adventureland in their stores.  They are currently offering $2 off Single Day Tickets and $10 off Season passes.

Catch Des Moines

Check their Deals & Discounts tab for savings to attractions in the greater Des Moines area.  At postdate they were offering discounts to Living History Farms, Blank Park Zoo, Adventureland, Reiman Gardens, Science Center of Iowa and the I-Cubs.

Corporate Discounts

Many companies sell discounted tickets to local attractions to their employees.  Be sure to check to see if your company is one that does.

Fareway

Beginning July 1st, and while supplies last, until August 9th, 2017 advanced admission Iowa State Fair tickets will be available for purchase at participating Fareway stores.  Save $4 on Adult tickets and $2 on Child tickets.

Local Libraries

Iowa Libraries provide free passes to area attractions by using a valid adult Library card and a valid photo ID. Any adult library patron may borrow a pass to enjoy an educational day of family fun.  Check out FREE passes to Blank Park Zoo, Living History Farms, Reiman Gardens and the Science Center of Iowa.  Passes are good for regular admission of two adults (Ages 13+) and two children (Ages 12 & under) and can be reserved once every 365 days.

Groups

Discounted group rates are available at most local attractions.  If you have a group of 10 or more be sure to inquire if there is a group discount available.

Hy-Vee

This grocery store chain provides a number of discounts to various local attractions.  It’s hard to pin down just what they do offer as it varies by store.  They typically offer discounts to Adventureland and the Iowa State Fair, along with discounts to regional attractions like Worlds of Fun and Royals tickets. Discounts are subject to supply availability.

Kid’s Clubs

The I-Cubs have a particularly generous kid’s club with their Cubbie’s Kids Club. For only $15, any child age 13 or younger can join and receive entrance to 10 Sunday Iowa Cubs home games (excluding July 2) in addition to other I-Cubs swag.

Members & Season Pass Holders

Of course members and season pass holders receive entrance to attractions, but they also can typically purchase additional discounted tickets for friends and family.  If you have a friend or neighbor that you know has a membership or season pass to a local attraction, ask them if they wouldn’t mind purchasing tickets for you.

Military

Many local attractions offer discounted admission to military personnel. Most require you to show a military ID at time of purchase to receive the discount.

Parks & Recreation Departments

Discounted admission tickets are available at a few area Parks and Recreation departments.  Ankeny Parks and Recreation offers discounted tickets to Blank Park Zoo and Indianola Parks and Recreation also offers discounted tickets to Blank Park Zoo as well as Worlds of Fun, Six Flags St. Louis and Six Flags – Great America.

Price Chopper
