Think about it: In what other month in Des Moines are the flowers blooming quite so brightly; is the sky a more colorful blue; are the temperatures quite so, temperate? (well, maybe not this year?) June is a month of transition—from spring to summer, from the end of the school year to the beginning of vacation time. But it’s also a month of remarkable possibilities, 30 days to celebrate all we love about life in our little corner of the world.

June 1st-3rd

Catch a FREE ride on a vintage carousel during the Heritage Carousel’s 20th Birthday Celebration. They will be celebrating with FREE food (hot dogs, pretzels, cotton candy, cake, and more!); face painting, balloon animals, a magician, car show, raffle drawings and more! Celebrate with a slice at Pizza Fest in The District! an entire festival dedicated to showcasing pizza in Ankeny! Presenting sponsor, Fong’s Pizza, will provide trademark fongolian favorites.
