CORNival Celebrations end with Fall Family Festival on Sept. 23

The Arts & Culture Commission is celebrating the end of its CORNival celebrations, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the planting of the first acre of commercial hybrid corn. Near the site where that corn was planted, the Commission has a festival of fun planned from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23. All activities will take place at Intrinsic Ag (102 1st Ave N), and will include activities such as free pumpkin painting (as supplies last), a free inflatable, a free custom corn maze, food for purchase and a farmers’ market. The CORNival CORNvoy statues will be on display.

The 20 CORNival CORNvoy statues were unveiled at Haines Park on July 4th.

The statues were “on tour” in several locations over the summer and will be brought together periodically as a collection for several CORNival themed events. A website highlighting these locations and showcasing the statues and artists is available by clicking here.

The full set of statues will be on-site at Terrace Hills Golf Course from Sept. 11 – 18.

On Sept. 19, the statues will move to Intrinsic Ag (102 1st Ave N) for the CORNival Family Fall Festival. The Festival will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23.
