Gateway Dance Theatre Presents: Shakuntala

Gateway Dance Theatre of Des Moines proudly presents its production of a play with dance, Shakuntala (Shah-koon-tala), originally written by India’s most respected poet and playwright, Kalidasa. Be swept away and transported on a magical journey to the land of India and a tale of love and beauty. It tells the story of the young Shakuntala, raised in a secluded sanctuary and falls in love with King Dushyanta, whom she meets in the forest. This new reworking is a play with dialogue and dance, featuring the international music and rhythms of India, Africa, and the Caribbean. Free-will donations are encouraged.
