Smart Start is a parent class designed just for kindergarten readiness (ages 4 – 6) that creates an enjoyable way for you to learn how to prepare your child for great learning experiences right from the start! Created by LearningRx, a pioneer and leader in cognitive development, this program targets the important cognitive skills, and also creates or broadens the foundational support, necessary for success as your child starts their academic journey.

These skills include:

  • Attention
  • Memory
  • Logic and Reasoning
  • Auditory processing (the number one skills that determines reading success!)
  • Visual processing
  • Processing speed

These are the foundational brain skills your child needs to process all of the new information that will come at them every day in school and in life. Developing and exercising these skills is critical, since even one weak skill can make learning (and life) harder than it needs to be. Smart Start creates an enjoyable way for you to learn how to prepare your child for great learning experiences and success right from the start! In twelve hours, we can teach you how to better equip your child for learning and life. How does it work?

  1. Register for the class at the time that works best for you.
  2. Attend a one-hour weekly class with other parents, learning fun, interactive cognitive development exercises.
  3. Bring your child to a one-hour weekly lab to practice the fun exercises you learned in class, with the oversight of a cognitive development specialist.
  4. Continue doing the exercises at home with your child, training the skills your child’s brain uses to think and learn. Being successful in school requires excellent instruction and guided practice, which schools provide. Success is also influenced by how developed an individual’s underlying cognitive skills might be, something that schools are not tasked with. That’s where you and LearningRx can partner together to make a difference.

*Enrolling for Summer Sessions:  Tuesday/Thursday 10 – 11 a.m.  or 5:30 -6:30 p.m. beginning June 5, 2018
