Join the Bondurant Parks & Recreation Department for the annual Youth Fishing Derby at Lake Petocka on Saturday, June 5th from 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM!
For ages, 3 – 15 years old although Iowa residents can try fishing without buying a license on June 4, 5, and 6 as part of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) free fishing weekend. All other regulations remain in place.
Bring your own fishing gear, bait, and tackle. A few buckets will be onsite to hold the fish that are caught. Raffle drawing and donuts after the kiddos catch a few fish!
“Grab your tackle box, take the family, and get your lines in the water this weekend,” said Joe Larscheid, chief of the Iowa DNR’s Fisheries Bureau. “Enjoy your time together, make lasting memories and put your worries behind you.”
Free fishing weekend is a great time to take kids fishing. Outdoor fun awaits.
