Welcome to dsm4kids’ calendar of family events!

No matter where you live in the Des Moines metro, you can rely on our calendar to find nearby events and activities your kids will love!

To keep up to date on weekend events and activities be sure to sign up for our Weekend Fun Guide!

We make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information listed on the calendar. However, you should always call ahead to confirm dates, times, location and other information before heading to an event or activity, since it may change.

Events considered for inclusion onto the dsm4kids calendar include those at local venues, including free and low-cost events, as well as special events that may require paid admission.  Events are posted to the online calendar in a timely manner throughout the month.

While all submissions are considered, inclusion is based on event relevance. Events occurring outside of Central Iowa or events primarily geared toward adults will not be listed.

Summer Night Live Concert Series @ Memorial Park

Join the Indianola Chamber for a night of live music and community fun on the NW corner of the Indianola Downtown Square. Gates open at 6:00 pm. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from local merchants. This FREE event is family-friendly with kids activities and is open to the public. Don’t forget to bring a chair or blanket to sit on! No coolers allowed.

Welcome to the TruBank Des Moines Challenge 2024 present. On behalf of the Disc Golf Pro Tour and the Des Moines Metro Disc Golf Club event team we are excited to host spectators at Pickard Park for the 4th year of this incredible event!

Please see the ticket options listed to choose the best ticket for you. Children 10 and under are free with a ticketed adult.

The ticket holder must be present to claim their credential. Your spectator pass will be given to you upon your arrival at the event. Once you have a credential, this is your only pass for entry to the event all weekend. No exceptions for lost passes.

Please arrive at the course no earlier than 7:30 AM.

Additional events open to spectators:

Saturday Night – A fly-mart will be hosted from 6pm to 8pm. At 7:15pm watch as two randomly selected spectators participate in the Sports Page Bar and Grill Putt for Dough contest. At 7:30pm watch Titan Disc Golf’s Matt Schlabach host a celebrity Steak Battle with various touring professionals. At 8:00pm the Des Moines Metro Disc Golf Club will have our 2nd annual Charity Kick-Ball event to benefit EDGE Disc Golf at the ballfields.
