2020 Guide to Farmers’ Markets and Farm Stands in the Des Moines Area

Farmers’ Markets have always been significant summer events in the Des Moines area. They provide fresh produce and entertainment for city dwellers while supporting local farmers and small businesses. But now, during the coronavirus crisis, some shoppers view them even more important than ever, preferring to shop outdoors rather than inside grocery stores.

Many local farmers’ markets and farm stands are starting to gear up for the 2020 season and are making plans to open with a more stringent paired down experience, keeping social distancing guidelines in mind.  We’ve rounded up the ones that have announced their opening dates and will add others as they’re publicized.
